2. Accessing the website and hosting
When you access the website, technically necessary connection data is processed. This may include your IP address, the date and time of access, the requested address, the amount of data transferred, the referrer, and information about your browser and operating system. This processing is necessary to deliver the website, maintain its stability and prevent misuse.
The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. The legitimate interest lies in the secure and reliable operation of this information service. Technical services from OpenAI and Cloudflare are used for hosting, delivery and protection of the website. Data may be processed outside the European Economic Area. Where this occurs, the safeguards provided for by the GDPR, in particular standard contractual clauses, are applied.
Technical log data is stored only for as long as necessary for operation, security and error analysis, or for as long as statutory obligations apply.
3. Contact by email
If you contact us by email, your sender address, the content of your message and the associated metadata are processed in order to handle and answer your enquiry. The address blog@resistoscope.org is forwarded via Cloudflare Email Routing to the mailbox used by the controller. The email services involved also process the data required for delivery.
Depending on the subject of the enquiry, the legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) or (f) GDPR. Messages are deleted once the enquiry has been fully resolved, unless statutory retention duties or legitimate reasons require further storage.
4. Cookies, analytics and embedded content
ResistoScope itself does not use analytics, advertising or profiling cookies. The interactive map and the website’s media are delivered directly from this website, without third-party embeds. Technically necessary hosting-security functions may, in individual cases, store or read information on your device.
External websites are opened only after you select a corresponding link. From that point onwards, the privacy policy of the respective provider applies.
5. Your rights
Subject to the statutory requirements, you have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection. You may withdraw consent at any time with effect for the future. To exercise your rights, send a message to the email address given above.
You may also lodge a complaint with the Austrian Data Protection Authority, Barichgasse 40–42, 1030 Vienna: www.dsb.gv.at.
6. Updates
This privacy policy will be updated if the website’s functions, services used or legal requirements change.
